Gifted Coordinator
As the Gifted Coordinator, I am responsible for gifted student identification and placement, which includes assessing students for gifted program eligibility. I also provide parent communication and support, advocate for gifted education, and ensure access to enrichment opportunities. My goal is to support our gifted students in reaching their full potential through individualized attention and rigorous academic opportunities.

Melissa Dorsey
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator
I have been a classroom teacher at Duluth Middle for the past 26 years, and I have been the MTSS Coordinator for 3 years. I analyze student data to determine which students at Duluth Middle need additional interventions and support. In the course of my job, I work directly with teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, Special Education department chairs, and parents to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Additionally, I work one-on-one with students to support their individual needs as they progress through middle school.

Jeff Mraz
PBIS Coordinator
As PBIS coordinator, I am responsible for promoting positive behavior and creating a supportive school environment. I provide training and support to staff on PBIS practices, collect and analyze behavioral data to monitor student progress, and collaborate with the PBIS team to coordinate efforts. Additionally, I oversee the PBIS School Store, which provides reward and event opportunities for students earning "Paw Points."

Cheri Montello
Instructional Interventions
As an instructional interventionalist, I am responsible for instructional intervention to support students to be academically successful. I routinely analyze student data to implement best instructional practices to meet student’s needs. Additionally, I partner and work alongside classroom teachers to support and advocate for language learners in their classroom.

Nicole Mosley
Instructional Coach
As an Instructional Coach, I support all stakeholders by providing research-based instructional strategies, valuable resources, and meaningful feedback. My goal is to empower both staff and students at Duluth Middle School with the tools and guidance they need to excel in teaching and learning.

Danielle Page
Special Education Co-Chair
I serve as the instructional co-leader of the department; assist department staff regarding curriculum, instructional strategies. I help use data to determine student needs in order to increase student achievement and assist with professional development needs. I take part in student testing and IEP meetings.
I empower students with diverse learning needs to reach their full potential through individualized instruction and inclusive practices, fostering a supportive and successful learning environment.

Dr. Diane Rice
Special Education Co-Chair
As co-chair of the special education department, I am responsible for maintaining compliance with federal (IDEA), state, and district special education laws, and for staying abreast of current best practices and legal updates. My duties include facilitating eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings, as well as providing ongoing support to special education teachers to ensure regulatory adherence. I also oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and act as a central liaison between special education staff, general education teachers, and parents. To bolster student success, I collaborate closely with school counselors, psychologists, the MTSS coordinator, paraprofessionals, therapists, and other specialists. Additionally, I deliver targeted instructional interventions to enhance student academic achievement, a crucial aspect of my support role.
