About ACCESS Testing
Dear Families of Our Multilingual Learners (ML),
We are sharing this information to help you stay informed about this year’s ACCESS testing. ACCESS is an annual assessment that measures your child’s progress in English language development. Testing will begin in January, and this resource is designed to help you understand the assessment’s purpose and how you can support your child throughout the process.
ACCESS Timeline
Dec. 1–12, 2025
- Students will review the ACCESS test and set their goals.
- The ESOL team will pull ML students by grade level to complete goal-setting before winter break.
- ML teachers will discuss important details about the test.
Jan. 7, 2026
- Prep Rally (during Connections): A fun, motivating kickoff to get students excited for ACCESS testing.
- Parent Night & Book Giveaway - 6:00 PM (Media Center): Hosted by the school. ML teachers will review key ACCESS details and be available to speak with families. Students whose parents attend will receive a candy bar.
ACCESS Bootcamp
- The ESOL team will create a grade-level plan to support students preparing for ACCESS.
- Teachers will provide targeted practice during WCP sessions to strengthen skills and help students feel confident on test day.
Exciting Student Opportunities
Schoolwide Contest:
- All students are invited to enter our logo design contest for this year’s Multilingual Student T-shirt! Designs must include the phrase “I’m Bilingual! What’s Your Superpower?” The winning logo will appear on the official shirt, so unleash your creativity and show your school pride!
- Submission Deadline: December 18th
Incentives:
- Students who attend all four sections of the ACCESS test will receive a T-shirt.
- Students who show growth compared to last year’s scores will earn a special reward (chips).
- Students who exit the program will be celebrated with a pizza party. One exiting student will also win a grand prize.
